PUZZLE . 数

Puzzle is a modular collectible design table composed of square marble tiles that can be rearranged in multiple configurations. Designed as an open system rather than a fixed object, the table allows for an almost infinite number of compositions, where surface, pattern, and structure are in constant transformation.

Each tile functions as both a fragment and a complete object in itself. Made from carefully selected Italian marble with distinctive purple veining, every square reveals a unique section of natural geological formation. When placed together, the tiles create a continuous surface; when separated, they expose the individuality of each piece, transforming the table into a system of interchangeable elements.

The veining of the marble becomes the central language of the piece. Rather than being treated as a static decorative surface, it is reinterpreted as a dynamic pattern that can be reassembled, interrupted, and reconfigured. This introduces a sense of infinity within a controlled modular structure, where every arrangement generates a new visual outcome.

Originally conceived for a Chinese mathematician, the project was developed around the idea of infinity, repetition, and combinatorial logic. This conceptual origin remains embedded in the piece: Puzzle is not only a table, but a system that reflects mathematical thinking translated into material form.

The square grid structure draws subtle inspiration from traditional Chinese compositional motifs, while the use of Italian marble emphasizes material richness and craftsmanship. This combination creates a dialogue between precision and material depth, between conceptual order and natural irregularity.

Beyond its surface logic, Puzzle reveals a deeper geological narrative. Each tile is not a flat image of stone, but a cross-section of a mountain. The act of separating the tiles exposes the thickness of the material and the continuity of its veining, reminding the observer that marble is not a pattern printed on a surface, but a three-dimensional structure formed over time. Each piece becomes a small fragment of geological history—an individual natural artwork shaped by pressure, time, and transformation.

Designed within the V10 Gallery collection, Puzzle has been reinterpreted as a limited-edition piece available in different sizes and marble finishes. Its modular nature allows it to adapt to various spatial contexts, from residential interiors to hospitality and gallery environments, always maintaining its core identity as an open and evolving system.
